The Foundation Years

Smart Logistics Pros, LLC was born from a bold vision and a deep understanding of the gaps in freight logistics, particularly in underserved markets. During this period, our founder, Sharifah Reese, laid the groundwork for the business by researching the industry, building strategic relationships, and navigating licensing and compliance processes. These years were focused on: Market research and industry exploration FMCSA registration and freight broker licensing Building the company brand and mission Establishing minority- and woman-owned certifications Cultivating initial carrier and shipper relationships Sharifah operated with grit and resourcefulness—often single-handedly managing client needs while preparing the company for scalable growth.

2021-2022

Official Launch and Early Operations

After years of preparation, Smart Logistics Pros officially launched brokerage operations and began booking freight, focusing on full truckload (FTL), LTL, and expedited services. This year marked our official entry into the logistics marketplace and a shift from planning to performance. Secured first clients and revenue-generating loads Expanded carrier network across the Southeast and Midwest Built internal dispatching processes and tracking systems Introduced expedited freight solutions for time-critical needs Developed digital invoicing, rate confirmation, and compliance systems This period was defined by building trust, gaining traction, and proving our ability to deliver.
